A lot goes into wedding planning, as a fellow bride in planning I totally get it! But, when it comes to makeup, it’s important to remember that less is often more.
In 2023, natural makeup looks are all the rage for brides who want to enhance their natural beauty without looking overly made-up.
No-Makeup Makeup look
One of the biggest trends for natural brides is the “no-makeup” makeup look. This style focuses on enhancing your natural features with minimal products.
The key to getting this look is to use sheer and lightweight makeup, you can use airbrush makeup, tinted moisturizer or a natural finish foundation to even out your skin tone.
A touch of concealer can be used to cover any blemishes or dark circles you don’t want showing.
Make sure your skin is nice and moisturized before you go in with your products, a smooth radiant surface will be the perfect base for your makeup.
Finish off your look and lock everything in with a setting powder.
A few of our favorite setting powders are the Danessa Myricks Evolution Powder and the Kryolan P1 Fixing Powder.
The dewy look
Another popular trend for natural brides is the “dewy” look. This makeup style focuses on creating a healthy, radiant glow on the skin. Let’s face it, this look is to show off that glow from within!
To achieve this juicy look, use a hydrating moisturizer, we love the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin and CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. If you have psoriasis or eczema like I do, Embryolisse is great for those extra dry areas and everyday use.
Use a hydrating liquid, cream, or airbrush foundation. Be sure to avoid using a matte foundation.
Matte = Not dewy!
Highlighter can be used to add a glow to the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and cupid’s bow.
Finish off with a light dusting of setting powder to set the makeup and give a natural, dewy finish. Just remember, the more powder you add, the more matte your makeup will be.
Last step is setting with a finishing spray, this will remove any powdery finish your setting powder may have caused and lock your makeup in place. Use a hydrating setting spray instead of a matte finishing spray and say hello to juicy, radiant lovely skin!
Skindinavia Bridal Spray is one of our go-to setting sprays for a hydrated look.
A note of color
For the natural bride who loves a pop of color, try a pink or peach lip color. This will add a fun touch of color to your look without being too overwhelming.
We love to use a soft pink or peach blush to add a lovely flushed look to the cheeks, giving you that soft blushing bride look.
Lets talk about those sultry eyes
When it comes to the eyes, our natural brides often opt for a soft and subtle look.
A neutral eyeshadow palette (meaning browns and earth tones) is our artist favorite, these babies can be used to create a variety of looks, from a natural daytime look to a smoky evening look.
We recommend using waterproof mascara to keep those lashes black and luscious even if you cry.
A soft eyeliner can be used to define and intensify the eyes. Not a huge fan of eyeliner? Try using eyeshadow as your liner, it gives a much softer look while still accentuating your eyes.
Girl, let me tell you something. Your wedding day is all about you and your beauty shining through! Your makeup should enhance what’s already there, making you feel like the most gorgeous version of yourself.
It’s important to remember that your makeup should be long-lasting and withstand the emotions and happy tears of the day.
With these top trends, you’re guaranteed to be a vision on your big day. So, take a deep breath, have some fun with the planning, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
